Ergonomics

Ergonomics

The team at Upstand are strong believers that when it comes to our health, ergonomics plays a large part during our working week. We all need to be aware of the risks of sedentary behaviours, such as sitting for too long. There are some important things to keep in mind when it comes to a positive and healthy work space:

1. Keep yourself moving throughout the day. Have a mixture of standing times, and sitting times. Take a mini break every 30 minutes, even if it's walking to the bathroom or kitchen / tea room. Getting the blood flowing is important and reduces so many health risks.

2. Make sure your desk set up is appropriate. Safework NSW has some great info to look at on specifics, but generally speaking they encourage you to try to keep an arms length away from your screen, arms need to be at 90 degrees and there needs to be minimal head tilt when looking at your screen.
